FAQ

What makes the BrainMap model unique?
Its way of "dividing up the mind" corresponds directly with the way brain surgeons have intervened in the brain in two radical surgeries: the hemisphere-dividing commissurotomy and the new brain/old brain-separating lobotomy.

What makes this tool so useful?
First, it is biased toward change. It assumes that the way you currently think is probably not the way you will always need and want to think—and perhaps frequently isn't the best way for you to think even now!

And it is prescriptive as well as descriptive. At every step in its inquiry, The BrainMap raises this question: Is the way you think now working for you? If the answer is no, it points the way for both individuals and teams to rethink how they think—and to think differently.

When was The BrainMap model created?
In the early 1980s. The self-assessment questionnaire has remained untouched after initial testing confirmed that it produces results that the tool's users accept with a high degree of confidence. The interpretation section has been expanded several times. The online version is the latest expansion, with dozens of new pieces of interpretation being made available to a user for the first time in the basic BrainMap report.

Who created The BrainMap?
Dudley Lynch, president of Brain Technologies Corporation, and author or lead author of some of the thinking skills field's most unique and groundbreaking books, including The Mother of All Minds: Leaping Free of an Outdated Human Nature, Strategy of the Dolphin®: Scoring a Win in a Chaotic World and Evergreen: Playing a Continuous Comeback Business Game.
